Kathy Szeliga mentioned this ad this evening, and we talked a little about how twisted it is.
She's happy that she's mentioned in it by name, twice. Tells pro-2A folks where she stands!!
Time for a little recycling ...
As MDPGV Executive Director Liz Banach and President Jen Pauliukonis crank up their anti-gun rhetoric against Kathy Szeliga, we are reminded of the failed Anthony Brown campaign which was supported by now Chair of the Board, Vinny DeMarco.
I've testified before comparing State level crime comparisons, here's some from the nationwide Top 30, for jurisdictions over 50k population. Numbers are per 100k population there are some ambigous rankings due to variations between violent crime overall and murder specifically ( interesting number crunching in itself to persue rate of murder as percentage of violent crime, but for another day). I will arbitrarily list in order by murder rate.
Norfolk. Murder 12.67
Violent Crime 523
Newport News. Murder 13.78
Violent Crime 431.7
Philadelphia. Murder 16.03
Violent Crime 1,025.5
Richmond. Murder 19.43
Violent Crime 594.1
And finally
Baltimore. Murder 33.91
Violent Crime 1,341.2
Baltimore is 30.27% more violent than next closest ( Phila, Pa), 74.5% more murderous than next closest (Richmond, Va).
Per 100k population, the standard units used measuring such things.
Baltimore just seems like 1,300 violent crimes for every 1,000 population.
...The "party girl" is the MDPGV Executive Director. Despite being prohibited from possessing alcohol, she managed to get 10 cases of beer. Surely, given her history, she must understand that criminals don't care about laws - and that where there's a will, there's a way.
...The turnstile jumper is the MDPGV President. She just thinks the rules only apply to the little people, and takes the liberal "free ride" mantra to it's literal conclusion.
Marylanders to Prevent Gun Violence has a new spot out trying to slam Szeliga as a callous benefactor for 'illegal guns', and insisting that FSA 13's "fingerprint based licensing system" was designed to prevent illegal gun sales, and that dealers in other states are where criminals are getting firearms used in Maryland.
oy...
We need a law to stop this kind of "free ride" criminal activity, right Jen Pauliukonis? Oops, no wait...
This is MPGV President PaulyShore at the US Capitol this summer posing with one of our huge black-and-red Patriot Picket counter-protest signs in the background.
