Is there a way for me to go with a shorter barrel to run a suppressor with it?

Currently the MPX is running an 8" barrel and I would like to go down to 4.5"

I just bought a omega 9k, which is 4.7" I am thinking no, but that can't count as OAL correct?

Are there any way around this?

Another thought is to run it as pistol configuration with the SB brace. If I run it as a pistol with brace, would I be able to use a VFG if the OAL is > 26"?

If you SBR it, the OAL length, as you know, has to be 29", so to do that with a suppressor, you would have to permanently affix it to the firearm. Your best bet would be to go the pistol route. Only a one stamp as well.

    ^^^This

Put an SBTactical pistol brace on it.

Based on what I have read about the rules, if a handgun is over 26" and you install a vertical grip, it becomes a "firearm." That is a legal Title 1 gun, so you should be good. If you conceal said firearm, then it becomes a AOW and you break the law without a stamp.

The only other way around is to figure out a way to weld a suppressor shroud to the barrel. TacSol has a setup for 22's like below, and just released something for 223/300. BUT only selling it as a complete upper.

Here is the upper. Maybe you could call them and buy the shroud, cut it length, and have someone weld it your barrel:

Yea.. I just got the stamp for the SBR a few weeks ago - I submitted the form 1 before the ATF's determination on shouldering the brace. oh well.

I think I will just stick with SBR configuration for now - 8" barrel, 29" OAL, VFG, with a can.

Convert it later to pistol config - 4.5" barrel, SB brace, AFG, with the same can.

    Thanks all!

Also, if you built it first as a rifle, you may not change it to a pistol.

If first a pistol, it can be changed to a rifle and then back to a pistol.

I know a guy. He has an engraved AR pistol. Though it is engraved to be an SBR, he chooses to keep in a pistol configuration(SB PDX) because my friend likes to shoot it with a 5" barrel, suppressed. When my friend decides to leave this beautiful state(sooner rather than later), I'm certain he will change that stock...maybe.

Unless he has a boat accident first.
