I’m still hung up on a quad rail being retro. When i think retro, i think of the old triangle hand guards :lol2:

Same here... retro means triangular handguards.

But cheese grater quad rails are also considered old nowadays. Skinny mlok is the trend.... matches skinny jeans and soy lattes.

    Lol

Are you curious to see what those same rounds chrono out of a 3.5" or 4" semi-auto handgun?

I like the AR as much as the next guy but I have to admit that my pistol caliber ARs have 16" barrels. The only 8" barrel AR pistol I have is chambered in .300 Blk and I shoot mostly 110 and 150 gr reloads through it. I don't collect stamps. I am still holding on till some ignorant legislator proposes legislation requiring me to muffler my firearms. Call me a hopeless optimist. : )

I have seen the posted ballistics but I wonder if there is any effect on the muzzle velocity between blowback and recoil, given the same barrel length.

I am one of those reloaders who doesn't own a chronometer. I just go on felt recoil and review of the spent casing to make sure I'm not exceeding case pressure.

    Just curious.

On my initial ar9 pistol build. I used a standard m4 buffer and spring.

    I had some bulged cases.

That’s why I’m using a heavy buffer and spring.
