Come up to Littlestown Fish and Game Saturday at 9am and shoot a round of clays--I think they are still doing the Clays Appreciation Days you can shoot two rounds for under $20 -- less than 1/2 hour from westminster
I have been using mine this spring/summer for clay shooting. Once broken in, no malfunctions. I clean it with Hornday One Shot, then squirt in some thicker Hornady spray. No malfunctions. I probably have shot 4-500? I shoot the blue box 7& 1/2 Federal 1290 fps, and the bulk red box Federal 7 &1/2 1200fps loads. I tried some Winchester 1300 fps loads, but I couldn't hit anything with them. Switched back to Federal and did ok. I am using an Improved choke I think. I love the gun. Light, functions well, swings well. I don't think it's as nice as a A300, but my silver edition looks nice enough with the walnut stock. Not sure how your wife is with recoil, but the Viper G2 comes in 20G and 28G. If you are local, and want to look at mine up close sometime, PM me.
This is a freaking nice gun. Only shot one flight of single trap. Used federal 1 1/8oz #8 walleyworld shells. I skipped the magnum break in. No issues with the action. Shot a 21. The rib is prefect for me. As is the pull. Soft shooting, but I'll shoot some 3" at some point.
I didn't want to shoot too much. Practicing for a trap shoot on Saturday. I'll save a better review after she shoots it.
