    I'm looking for a work friend who would like to practice in order to pass the VA test to allow him to hunt deer in VA with his crossbow. Are there clubs in NOVA that allow crossbows?

    Thanks both. I clarified with him, he want to hunt on park land and they require a test he says... I'll send the linky along to him.

    Some places require the BowHunter Certification in the DC metro area.

    IIRC, the IndianHead navy base is one of them in Southern MD. The base command does not like hunters shooting at high explosive storage areas. lol

    Since the OP requested NOVA ranges, there's an archery range at Bull Run State Park. Or he can drive out to one of the closer WMAs and practice to his heart's content.
