Just wanted to give a shout-out to all of the volunteers and LEOs who supported this year's Special Olympics. It was a beautiful day yesterday (probably the nicest weather we've had in a decade)... guess who forgot their sun screen?
All of the athletes conducted themselves wonderfully (many, many examples of outstanding sportsmanship, no injuries to speak of, and not a single case of anything outside of honorable competition.... I wish our professional athletes could conduct themselves so positively).
Some photos are attached. Once again we received outstanding support from our law-enforcement community. Thanks to all.
BTW. The Dr. M clan did very well. My daughter won a gold for the 50m, a gold for the running long jump and a silver for the softball throw. My son won a silver for the 25m, a silver for the tennis ball throw, and a bronze for the standing long jump. Lots of bling to hang on the walls this year.
Cheers.
