I want an AR 15 Pistol

I want to buy an AR 15 Pistol and need buying advice. Since Maryland banned most AR 15's, these look like a good option. I don't know anything about them, but would like to add one to the collection. Am I nuts? So, who owns them and what do y'all think? I would like to use it for recreational shooting and home defense. I was looking at the Springfield Armory models. Thanks, Red

You will need an HQL.

Buy a complete AR lower. Then buy a complete pistol upper. No HQL required. Easy peasy...

That just exempts you from the training. You can build one from an 80%.

They are regulated. You will need a HQL and the AR pistol will have to be on the roster. I was up Guntry today and they had a few up there. I think Molly's over in Kennedyville had a few ATI AR pistols too. As mentioned you could also just buy a lower and then look around for your own upper to throw on it. You have options.

Nope....Retired military does not need a HQL.

If you buy a rifle or carbine, you can't convert it to a pistol. Anything transfered to you as a rifle has to stay a rifle. You can convert it to an SBR, but that is NFA and requires a tax stamp.
