Buy all the guns and ammo you can to keep it out of the hands of those pesky commies.

I think the (LEFT) is buying up huge lots of Ammo so that is really screwing up the supply.
My Friend works for a FED Agency with three letter Acronyms. That are placing huge orders!!

Obama tried this tactic by ordering 5 billion rounds of ammo for government use. Well we benefited from stupidity, all those cheap 9mm and 556 came from that error. I just don't see ammo manufacturer turning their backs on us. I believe that the new 2.5 million gun owners in May has had an impact on ammo more than the government. It's even difficult to find the firearms we want. Give it time, with Trump shutting down operations in Iraq and Afghanistan the ammo will once again catch up with demand.

One possible reason for that is it's nearly the end of the fiscal year...if they don't spend all their money they can lose some funding the next fiscal year. The agency I worked for had a ton of unnecessary equipment stored away from last minute purchases so they wouldn't lose money.

Luckily I stocked up with you and Shamrock on 556 and 9mm right before. I have had luck buying 7.62x51 M118LR at theamericanmarksman.com lately if anyone is in need.
Thanks for the link. Just placed an order.

Lake City, Federal, CCI, Blazer, Alliant powder, and a couple others are all owned by one company. The company has huge .gov contracts under numerous brands. You can bet your bottom dollar they will not jeopardize one nickel of that.
You can also expect a big price increase from the manufacturer. I am not talking about the gougers.
The warnings have been out there for months. Jon has NOT been crying wolf.

Quick search shows current contracts with the government for these manufacturers.

Black Hills has a contract with the Navy.
Federal has contracts with DHS, DOD, Navy, and Army.
Sig Sauer has a contract with the Army.
Speer has contracts with DHS and CBP.
Winchester has the contract for the Army's MHS program.

This is probably a good guess. The federal governments end of year is Sept. 30th so it makes sense for them to start dropping all of their extra money into things they may not necessarily need such as more ammo. I wonder if some of the current ammo shortage (besides the rioting/pandemic) is from the state/local governments buying up before their end of year on June 30th?
