I sent e-mail to Bryan at Aimsurplus asking why no P83 can be shipped to MD, eventhough it is on the approved list, under Radom P83. He explained that MSP website listed the pistol as 9mm.
Anyway, he will now ship the pistol to MD as there has never been P83 in 9mm, only 9x18.

So, here is yours chance of getting a P83 w/ "free shipping" and two mags.

    Thanks for doing this.

The caliber should be irrelevant, anyway, since it's the model of the pistol that's "approved", and the caliber is simply descriptive (after all, many pistols have aftermarket parts kits that let you switch calibers.)

You are using logic, you can't in MD. MD approves the caliber as well. Yep, so a SIG P226 in 9mm is a different gun then a P226 in.40 and the 357SIG version is a third version.

Someone recently, within the last six-eight months, got the FN plastic pistol (FNP series) approved in 357SIG. Before, the gun was approved in 9mm and .40. At that time you could legally buy and replace a .40 S&W barrel with a 357SIG barrel, but you couldn't sell the gun with that aftermarket barrel in place. Only as an accessory.

    9x18, 9x17, 9x19 ( Makarov, Kurtz, and Luger) are all 9MM:-)

However, we don't know what was put on the form, do we?

The state has shown another failure in their system. As you noted, they list 9mm, not 9mm Luger or 9x19, both are more descriptive than just 9mm.
