I don't see this around here, so reposted from FB:

The US Court of Appeals for the 4th Cir. has scheduled oral argument via videoconference in our challenge to the Handgun Qualification License 5/6, 2020 at 9:30am. The Court will be streaming audio only on YouTube https://t.co/VD2uTYWywI

You can find the briefs neatly organized by @2Aupdates. Go to the Circuit Court tab https://t.co/kjH5Cxf30E

    Well done Mr. Pennak!

@danb, Agee appointed by Bush, Richardson appointed by Trump and Keenan appointed by Obama. Seemed as if Agee and Richardson gave it to the state pretty hard and Keenan was fairly neutral mostly trying to find standing within MSI.

I'm late to the party, but the link was posted in the opening post:

of the Maryland Shall Issue v Hogan thread: https://www.mdshooters.com/showthread.php?t=244473

Since I missed it live I guess I'll wait for the recording to become available.

Pennack is so sexy when he distinguishes merits vs standing and talks about actual cases.

. He makes one heck of a good argument that appears to be founded in precedent. Certainly seems like an uphill battle.

I'm a little late listening to this, but it's pretty interesting hearing the judge(s) hold the state's feet to the fire over standing. State saying the plaintiffs haven't been injured because they haven't paid for the HQL yet, and don't have "concrete" plans to purchase a specific firearm. Judge doesn't seem very indulgent on that front.

Yes, I would have loved to see the judges’ faces during that exchange. fred55

I just finished listening to the hour session. I'd bet a lot of money that the state's argument would be something along the lines of "look you went through the process and now your rights are no longer infringed" if there was a person on record that had applied for and received an HQL.

I hope to see this back for merits. Thank you MSI and thank you Atlantic Guns for putting up a good argument.
