The new Labradar arrived yesterday. Looking forward to using it soon. Working 7 days a week right now but I'll get to it soon. I'll post an update when I get to try it out. Anyone used one?

Here's a spread sheet download from 4570inMD's labradar
5 shots 87 grain projectile, 27.3 grains of H335 powder, velocity and energy read outs were set every 10 yards
I don't know all the perticulars of the unit but it is impressive.

You can adjust the sensitivity to use with suppressors. There are trigger devices needed to use it with Bow and air guns.
You can set it to track velocities at 5 ranges which are programmable out to 100 yds. You set your bullet weight and as you can see in the spreadsheet, it shows velocities for the programed ranges, kinetic energy and power factor. The amount of data stored is limited by the size of the SD card you put in it. The data is downloaded into your computer as a CSV file which can be opened in Excel or other spreadsheet programs. As stated above, its doppler radar and can be used in any weather or conditions. I tried mine today with a 22 and love the thing. They tell me its accurate to within .1%. anyone getting one should also get the USB rechargeable battery pack, it gives you plenty of power for long range sessions.

What do you need to run it with a suppressor?

The LabRadar works fine with a suppressor, a flash arrestor, and a linear compensator. The key is ensuring the muzzle blast gets to the sensor on the side of the LabRadar; failing that, use the 'Doppler' initiating feature for the 'Trigger Source' and ensure that the LabRadar is carefully aimed at your target (sight through a small drinking straw resting in the 1" aiming notch on the top of the unit).

For black powder and cast boolits, it is best to set the 'Velocity Range' to the 'Handgun' setting because of the lower velocities (<1500fps).

External battery packs (5v 1a) work to extend time of operation but rely upon an acceptable voltage in the six AA batteries (keep an eye on them for leakage/corrosion). Minimize battery consumption by minimizing the time of radar activation (Orange ready light on).

The LAbRadar is a great piece of equipment and very helpful in optimizing powder loads.

Shoot with the Hooligans at the Savage River Range and try-it-out before you buy your own.

This ^^^! Heed our Hooligan LAbRadar guru.

It's hard to believe it's been almost a year since 4570 first introduced us to the unit at a Hooligan shoot. That was back in January, 2016. Since then, we all hope he brings it out to play every Hooligan range trip!
