If a riot occurs and physical harm is attempted on any non-violent citizen, there will most likely be a number of "self-defense" cases evolve. I can not envision any law abiding person standing still while someone is robbing their store(s) or attempting bodily harm on individuals. These kind of trials are used by the non law abiding people (of all races) to go on a shopping spree, destruction of property, and robbery. When/if people confront these thieves and bullies with force, rioting will rapidly diminish.
If Zimmerman had been a black community watch dog and shot "Trayvon" it wouldn't have even made the news. With people like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and our illustrious President making detrimental comments prior to and after charges were filed is indicative of a political purpose, not upholding the law.
