Could you 3D print an FNC receiver and then put a pre 86 transferable FNC sear in it? Asking for a friend...

On most FNC rifles, the upper is the serialized part. The lower where the sear goes it a piece of metal. The ATF changed their minds on that a few times as well. At first they said the upper was the registered part, then the lower, now the upper again......

They are being sold in MD so they must be legal. It says 28.25"-29.75" on their webpage so length isn't an issue. There was one at the MDTCA event yesterday we all got to shoot.

Pretty darn nice! Only shot 5-rounds and finger-f*cked it for a few minutes. Appears to be very well built. Someone commented the trigger was surprisingly 'not bad' for a bullpup. I didn't find it objectionable at all (and I recall not liking my stock Tavor trigger). My Tavor has a Geissele upgrade now but its been ages since I've had it out to the range so can't compare of the top of my head.
Just picking it up, the length of pull jumped out at me as maybe a little long. But I think someone adjusted the stock out a few clicks already? Looking up info on the web the Tavor LOP is 15.75", the LOP for the Hellion is 16.25-18.25.
The thumb safety lever is angled so it doesn't poke you on 'fire' like a CZ Evo does.
The mag release was natural and thumb actuated AK/HK-like, not AR. I'm fine with that but others might not be. I suspect there will be an oversized mag release supplied by the aftermarket like the CZ Evo has. The mag release button has a very short and crisp action. Though a larger button might make it too easy to accidentally drop a mag.
I've not read the instruction manual and we were told to just pull the charging handle to charge it. Sounded like there was no bolt release button? Also, if you dropped the bolt after you removed the mag, you couldn't get it locked back again manually? Again, I haven't read up anything on the manual of arms on it and was just doing as we were told.
The ambi charging handle flips forward automatically. It takes a moment to find and pull it out w/ your finger so maybe a slight delay charging compared to a HK/FAL/AK, etc? But none of those other I mentioned are ambi, so if that is important the Springfield trumps them by a large margin. Would carry very well slung against your body since the charging handle doesn't stick out.
IMO needs a hand/finger stop of some sort. The first time I picked it up, my hand naturally falls RIGHT THERE at the muzzle. If you have shorter arms than me, maybe not a problem but if it was mine I'd put some sort of stop to keep my fingers in a safe location.

Yeah, me too. I don't like it that I can't have a bayonet attaching to it. Even if I can attach a bayonet, it doesn't lend itself to nice thrusting motion.

Garand Thumb did a review his only real knock was the LOP, the lack of flaring in the magwell, and the bolt release at the rear of the gun was not ergo enough, he thought the safety was little out of reach for people with smaller thumbs. I am saving up for one. It excites me more than the Tavor did. I passed on the Tavor and really have no desire for one. This one I want for some reason.

Holy cow. That stock looks comfy though, I wonder if they'd sell just that?
When I was in WV visiting a friend who has a yearly BYOG day which is a really fun. We have bunch of us who get together BYOG and shoot targets for the weekend. We all bring enough ammo to let others shoot each other's guns. Last fall one guy brought a BHA 500 auto max which took center stage. It just blew through 2-inch bullet proof glass and just devastated all other targets very impressive. I brought my 45/70 and my BFR .500 S&W revolver. We were the only two who were shooting .500 calibers modern ammo. Since I reload, I will load up my trailer with the reloading bench and supplies to reload the .500 calibers. This year I will be bring my new BHA .500 S&W rifle and the .500 revolver. One of the fellas will be bringing a Barrett M82a1 50bmg who is a retired military sniper. The target lane is about 800 yards at its longest. We also have competitions shooting non-modern guns, modern guns, longest accurate shot with scopes and without scopes grouped by caliber. It is a great 2 days, all of us were military at one time or another.
