I recently completed a new bolt action build and took it out to Delmarva. Similar to another recent poster, I bought a Howa barreled action for $350 last year. The interesting thing about this one (to me at least) is that it's a 7.62x39 Cal model, and is specifically designed to shoot combloc M43 that has bullets slightly larger than Western 308, the same way the CZs are. I've always wanted an M43 bolt!

This was a heavy contour barrel built on their mini action, which is smaller than the more common short action and incompatible with the SA stocks. Because of this the stock choices were more limited... I got an MDT LSS stock for it that was trivial to mount, but cost as much as the action... Topped it off with standard Magpul MOE stuff I had lying around, and used existing Vortex rings and scope.

This thing is ridiculously handy, even with the scope and bipod. I only tried it with the same Golden Tiger and Bear silver I normally use in my VZ58. Got ~2 MOA with the Golden Tiger which I was pretty happy with, and was able to hit hard drives at 200 yards which was fun too.
