Metal detecting in the central Pa area, York Co specifically? Any good not so trashy areas or should I just sell my Fisher? Any Pa laws I need to be aware of outside of common sense?

There is a lot of gold in the streams in York county. Look it up. The issue will be finding a spot that isn't on private property. Tons and Tons of spots to metal detect and stuff. Google gold mining in York county.

Two days before Gettysburg was the (tiny by comparison) Battle of Hanover.

Hell, it's not impossible that there's a remnant or two right in your back yard.

    The battlefield today

The fighting in Hanover is commemorated by "The Picket," an impressive bronze statue of a mounted cavalryman sculpted by famed Boston artist Cyrus E. Dallin. Paid for by the state of Pennsylvania,

    DAMN!

Hunted an old yard last week. Was only small area not renovated or paved over but, found a 1900 Nickel. Was cool finding something 115 years old.
