Yes, it is important to Oppose SB 1062 / HB 991 .

No , that phone number is NOT the effective means to do so . Apparently someone at NRA HQ looked in a directory and found a number listed for the SJPC . But that is only the non-political secretary that only handles routine administrative matters .

Instead , you should use the link at least a dozen places on MDS , or the websites of all Md based 2A groups, or the MGA's own website , and call/ e-mail to the offices of the 16 individual members of the Committee . Your own Senator for that matter , but unless they are on SJPC , they don't really come into play until if / when the Bill is voted out of the Committee .

Unless your Senator/ Delegates are on the respective Committee , they are not yet of prime importance .

For right now , flood the calls/ e-mails / faxes to the individual Members of SJPC and HJC . IF/ When either Bill leaves the Committee , then flood your Senator/ Delegate(s) .

Called my rep and sent emails to everyone.
Do we have anyone at the hearing today that can provide status.

BTW - The bill says "on conviction is subject to imprisonment not
exceeding 3 years or a fine not exceeding $5,000 or both." This is for possession of any magazine that holds more than 10 rounds.

Does the potential for three years trigger the MD and federal prohibition on ever owning a gun again?

If you were charged with this, yes you would become prohibited upon conviction from owning firearms again regardless of the sentence you received.

    That's what I thought.
I sure hope everyone is aware that getting caught with an empty magazine would be a life changing event.

One thing I didn't mention is that this would be classified as a misdemeanor.
    Does that make any difference?
