I want to get my house renovated and the contractor said a structural engineer should look at my basement/foundation and see what repairs/improvements need to be made. I have an old farmhouse and the basement was dug out under the existing stone foundation. Also I want someone to look at the beams and make sure they are OK (some have treebark on them). Anybody here do this sort of thing?
