I like Kershaws. You have to check which ones are US made but a good chunk of them are. My EDC is gray Link. I also occasionally carry a Blur with the G10 grip instead; and I carry my Shallot when I need something slim to hide in dress pants.

They're also owned by the same company that makes Zero Tolerance, of which some are also USA made. I don't own any, but I've been eyeballing them through Expertvoice. 50-60% off MSRP is tough to beat...

People rag on Gerber quite a bit, but i have had excellent luck with them through the years. Currently EDC a Gerber Fastball and I love the action on it and it hasnt needed sharpening yet after 6months of near daily use (though nothing over the top, and I have re-honed it) Have a Strongarm strapped to my fishing/camping pack for a good 5 years now, its done everything from digging holes to splitting small firewood using a baton and its going strong, had to re-sharpen/hone a few times and the protective finish is mostly worn off the blade, but i cant seem to kill it. Have an LMF-II on my bug out kit as well as a "mini" Ka-Bar. Also have had good luck with Ontario knives.

Glad some people got an email. I never did. I went on their site and found out it was canceled. No surprise really. Can't blame a company for not wanting to loose thousands of dollars due to a mistake. Guess Ill be waiting for a coupon and my points to build up so I can get a 940 from Cabelas.

Wonder what the intended purpose was...

My understanding is the code was provided to middle men who sell their product to provide an opportunity to own a product they normally couldn't afford and thereby provide familiarity with the product they're selling. I think they're also required to view video's etc. explaining metallurgy and features. Many complained they should have provided individual one time codes vs the same code for all, which is how it was exploited.

I'm not upset for them cancelling sales that essentially used a hacked code, even if I'm a little disappointed. I own a lot of BMs, but between the incident last year publicly destroying guns for their local PD, and their aggressive enforcement and hikes to their MAP pricing, they are basically the last knife company I buy new stuff from.

I do not buy Benchmade knives because they are anti-2A and part of the socialist scene out there in Oregon. I only buy Buck knives. Made in the USA and not too political as I understand.

What's a USA made brand you would reccomend that hasn't gone to the dark side?

I have not heard anything bad about Buck Knives and they are made in the USA. Same with KA-Bar. Unless I just haven't seen it.

It wasn’t a hacked code (based on the mass email sent) they just had more people use it than they expected or anticipated “an unauthorized code to be distributed beyond its intended purpose”. So there was an intended audience, that audience just wasn’t the entire public.

After having my order accepted then cancelled, credit card debited then refunded all in one day I receive an email two days later thanking me for my purchase.

Benchmade just did a charge (Temp Auth / Pending Payment) on my credit card for the 50% off order. Not sure what is going on. Maybe my order I slipped through the cracks....
