I would operate the slide with the recoil spring out of the gun. When opening the action, look for any drag on the hood of the barrel or on the barrel bushing. If it is tight, the extra drag may be what is causing it to hangup periodically.

My google fu research says hammer spring or cosmoline around firing pin. I stripped down again today because 16 rounds ad no jams BUT weak strikes. I soaked the slide with pin x 1 hour and used brake fluid on entire gun..... cleaned and lubed. TBD tomorrow maybe.

What are you guys seeing on the barrel link? hole out-of-round?

I think it's supposed to be like that...

Compared to a TT-33/TTC link which is straight-edged with round hole,
the M57 looks like it has a slightly oval hole on a diagonal axis and a rounded outer profile.
At least mine does (and it's not damaged).

Curious about the pin below the chamber, it doesn't appear to have a barrel insert or liner (ala later P1/P38)

There is a slight wear groove on the back of the barrel and I think that is the jam point. Thinking about using a stone to smooth it out if I still have problems.

The link hole is not supposed to be oblong, it is supposed to be round. I have used modified 1911 links to repair TU-33 pistols in the past. In fact, you can do the same link checks on a TU-33 pistol that you can do on a 1911.

Shot again yesterday, same problems.... part out on Ebay or trade in is in it's future. It's not worth putting any more $$$ into IMO.
