BRC there are "No meetings with mandatory attendance". I think that the club motto is less talk more shooting or something to that effect.

This. Do your orientation, get your membership card, get your range badge and shoot.

Lots of great advice posted here. I have been a member of three
Clubs at AGC, Marriottsville, Md and happy with all of them. Moved
around a bit to find at better fit when competing in the AGC
High Power League. Found these Clubs outstanding in all respects:

1))) Maryland Rifle Club...Est 1934. Great group of men and women,
non mandatory quarterly mtgs, and some social events. One devoted
MRC gent chairs the MRC guided AGC High Power league, and he
and an experienced group of assistants, conduct an annual entry
level two day High Power course to introduce folks to competing
    with the military service rifle.

2))) Marriottsville Muzzle Loaders...great bunch of fellas and only one
lady that I know of (she and hubby love to dress up in 1800s garb and
they travel from WVA to participate). Features a low annual fee of $20,
a devoted Board of Officers who keep things active and straight, and
they conduct monthly organized, fun shoots/friendly competitions and
thwy even "tolerated and made me feel welcome," even though I
am the least experienced when it comes to experience with a cap and ball.

3))) Monumental Rifle & Pistol Club...a great Club if you want lots
of things to do at range:

a, they have a well supervised Juniors Program,
    b. they have the ONLY Womens Division within a Club at AGC,
    c. they conduct a wad of Club shoots and competitions,
    d. they meet monthly with attendance encouraged but NOT mandatory,
    e. I think they are the largest Club of over 30 Clubs in the AGC network,
    f. One member honchos an busy Trap shooting program.

I hold membership in MRC and MML and will be renewing soon, even
though my days at the range have been snuffed out by a pretty
serious disease, and one that will eventually cause my
demise...Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, for which no cure exists.

I take a powerful med called OFEV and it is extending my
stay "on the right side of the grass"...a saying I borrowed from
a BS session at the AGC Barnes Range last summer.

I strongly encourage you to pick a Club and become active. I have
been involved in the shooting sports for more than 63 years, and
I have always met the finest folks I know at a range or while competing
at the local, state or national level.

I joined MRC a couple of months back and finally have the time to do the new member orientation this weekend. Now if I only had time to go to the range! lol

I get it that the OP has extra busy schedule and is time challenged, and a no frills Club suits his needs.

For the benefit of other people who read this thread, a full service Gun Club is a fine thing, and an enriching experience. If you don't already belong to one, I encourage people to join one. AGC has many devoted to a specific discipline, and several all around Clubs with wide variety of interests.

+1 for BRC. I joined with them as an easy, no commitment way to shoot at AGC. After 2 years of shooting, I gravitated to another club more in line with my interests.

Homewood is a very laid back club. We have one annual meeting a year which happens to be Sunday night @ 6:00 pm at the trap house. Stop in and get signed up.

I need to find a range where I can shoot some distance (ie...300yds+) and not have to spend hours driving to because I do not have alot of free time available......I had signed up at Peacemaker, but things changed drastically for me not soon after and I have no had time since to go back...

I have been a member of Mt. Washington Rod & Gun since 1988. Great club. I've held a AGC range badge every year since 1988. Like Lew said I've always met nice people and always enjoy myself.

If you like to have fun and make a lot of friends, consider joining Arlington Rifle and Pistol Club.

Arlington has events throughout the year for its members:

3-Gun, Steel Plate Rifle shoots, Steel Plate Pistol shoots, Tuesday Night Steel Shoots from April - October, Bust Fest Trap Shoots. We also have an outstanding Juniors program and a Women On Target Program. Check out our events calendar and shoot with us as a guest. Our members are not required to come out to anything, but we have terrific people in our club and we have a lot of fun. We also have food at all of our weekend shoots. Arlington is now accepting members for the 2018 season. Our club dues are $40 a year. Our events calendar is on our club website: arlingtonrpc.org.

Arlington Rifle & Pistol Club was a great group when I belonged 20+years ago. Had to drop out when costs became prohibitive for range badge and was raising a family. Now retired and thinking about joining again to get back into team shooting.
