I don't have one I want to get rid of - but I can walk through set up if you like. I park'd the one in the attached photo using my setup and the chemicals available from mg34.com On that note, mg34.com is a fantastic resource for you.

As with most coatings, prep is important. For that project above, a sandblast was done after degreasing and just before phosphating.

https://mg34.com/product/home-parkerizing-kit-manganese/ - this is the kit I used.

Aside from the heat source, the only other equipment I purchased/utilized was in the attached photo.

Awesome! I am definitely going to need some help. I am trying to do barreled receivers so I need atleast a 30 inch container. I was considering making a pvc parkerizing set up to cut down on cost.
I recently bought a blast cabinet from tractor supply. I also picked up a bag of their black diamond coal slag medium media. Do you think that will be good to use when cleaning parts and if not what do you recommend?
As far as the parkerizing goes, do you have any tips for me? I think I got the general idea of it but dont know the finer details.

You're going to want to use stainless steel tanks simply because of the temperature and chemicals involved. You can get a 30" stainless basin cheap enough.

As with all coatings, prep is paramount. I used Aluminum Oxide and it worked very well (I think I got it from tractor supply as well).

These are the instructions I followed, which are written by the company that makes the chemicals I used:

    https://mg34.com/product/parkerizing-instructions-free/

For heat source I used a propane burner I have handy for steaming crabs and frying turkeys (just make sure your tank is full so you don't run out mid stream).

Here is another page with decent instructions and some photos to illustrate:

    https://m1-garand-rifle.com/parkerizing/

And finally, a post sharing a warning about mistakes made (FWIW, I believe his two biggest mistakes were going past 15 minutes and using steel wool instead of iron filings)

    https://forums.gunboards.com/showth...to-home-parkerizing-or-how-I-ruined-a-Makarov

Don't forget to apply grease after you're finished. Much like how anodizing accepts dye, the park'd finish accepts the grease which provides color/lubricity/protection from rust. If down the road your finish starts to appear dull reapply grease....

If you have any specific questions just ask, happy to help. There are loads of pages providing "how-to's" just make sure, especially if using the chemicals from mg34, that you default to their instructions if there is a dispute. Happy Park'ing!

Brownells sells the solution and has instructions for use. https://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-...zing/parkerizing-supplies-only-prod24778.aspx

The cheapest way to do rifles is to take a piece of plastic rain gutter and epoxy end seals on both ends. You can heat the solution with electric drop in heaters and manual cycle an off on switch to keep the temp in the ball park. Temp in not that critical. You can manually stir the solution as the parts are being parked.

This oil works fine to stop rusting after the solution is rinsed off. You can put it in a spray bottle and spray it on.
