They got off light. Foose got a couple million and healthcare fo'life! Leaving behind a completely wrecked school system by stealing money from the employee health fund to pay for her special projects(ESM anyone?).

Of course, new homeboy in charge is doubling down on stupid with forcing "equity" down everyone's throats.

And it was totally NOT required. No legal requirement to pay him anything except for earned leave. Seems like a payoff instead.

I wonder about the $76K charge for “Trained Peace Circle Keepers to attend training to become Trained Peace Circle Keepers trainers”. WTF is a PCK in a school setting? Sounds like the UN.

They had plenty of money to build the Taj Mahal of Henry Wise high-school and Barack Obama elementary school.

PG county schools are not lacking in money. They are lacking in committed parents.

    Also lacking quality leadership

IMO, he's known all along it couldn't happen, but waited to now (when he may be preparing for higher office) to make his gambit.

Calculated move. I left PG County 30 years ago but not for political reasons, it's just the way things worked out. I love the county but I don't look back.

Not sure that is true. They have a contract. There is probably a clause in there addressing terminations or resignations.

I don’t think it was cut and dry because the county council had to vote on and approve his parting gift.

The question is why is any school system still printing physical report cards.

Surely the concerned parents of pg county students that didn't get one would just swing by the school and have the secretary run one off for them.....

Something tells me that any household that didn't get a q4 report card by now... probably doesn't really care.

In retiring, it was the hardest decision I had to make in a very long time, but it was a good one. The harassment, the mean high school girl attitude of Admen, the lack of student and parent concern for a successful academic career (wanting everything handed to them), it all became too much.

In connecting with others, I have learned that others have abandoned the School of Horrors. There were already three teachers that walked out during the school year. I doubt that those subs hired in their place will return. The building supervisor and one of the custodians are gone. Four specialists are gone: music, p. e., ESOL, and reading. Five teachers, me included, are gone; I retired, others fled to other schools. There are two, three who tried to leave, but they were blocked. During the year, 21 subs either were told not to come back or refused to return.

It's extremely depressing as we were on the way to excel about four years ago. Then, Herself, new principal, arrived. If I have the count correct, Herself was responsible for the departure of eight of my colleagues her first year. Of the ones who were there when she came, I think three out of 45 remain. Even ones she hired have fled. Somehow, the Title One funding was yanked. How does that happen? The whole county knows about Herself and what is going on, yet nothing has been done.

Prince George's was the place to go in 1989. Now, it's the place to flee.
