Delegate Dumais working on bill to ban 80% firearms

Apologies if this has already been posted, but I thought it could use the exposure.

https://www.capitalgazette.com/news/...226-story.html

Of note, the uncited, unelaborated statement:

Quote:
"Federal law already prohibits the creation of untraceable guns."
Depending on how it is interpreted, the above statement may not even be true.

A bump stock is not a gun, yet they are banned now. An 80% frame or bits of data is not a gun ..........

Is that the slippery slope?

The article also said that you could get a gunsmith to complete your 80% lower, without a serial#, too! The sad thing is that 90% of the people that read that BS will believe every word. Gunowners included.

They're trying to smear the respectable, legal trade of gunsmithing by confusing it with criminal behavior and illegal guns with defaced serial numbers.

There's simply no connection but then again, they're leftists, so any lie will do. It's a gun so it must be bad, of course.

“Obviously, the state can’t regulate the internet, but we can certainly indicate what is allowable in Maryland or what you can possess in Maryland,” Dumais said of the plastic guns. “They might be legal otherwise, but you’re not going to be able to create them or have them in Maryland.”

Just like when they stopped all illegal drugs in Maryland when they passed all of the laws back in the day

We all know what this is about....
