If your basement is below grade it is legal in MoCo to shoot in your basement. You'll probably get noise complaints, swatted by neighbors who think there is a massacre happening in your house and end up killing yourself with lead poisoning if all else fails, but I've been told by numerous folks over the years that it is legal.

Hmm... I think my house needs more insulation (of the sound-deadening type) and a great HVAC system (read: air filtration).

That, and an underground expansion

its in the MoCo summary of weapons law

I mean the Weapons Law Summary. Published by montgomery county police

" Exceptions
The prohibitions on discharge of guns
inside and outside the urban area
are not applicable to the discharge of a gun: (1) on
any target, trap, skeet, or shooting range that has been inspected
and approved in writing by the Firearm Safety Committee; (2) in
a private basement or cellar target range; "

I've seen it done in Montg'y Co

That is why I have been saying the Democratic People's Republic of Maryland (DPRM). We stopped being an American state awhile ago.

I wonder how much late night gunfire the neighbors would have to put up with after that.

There's a guy a few miles up the road from me, has a gun range in his basement. I believe it's a 36" concrete tube that was buried along the with the basement, trolley runs the targets out.

Anywho, I think anyone should be allowed to shoot in their basement if they choose, makes me too nervous to try but,... to each his own.

(from the article)

The county’s urban boundary laws do not conflict with the Second Amendment because a 2008 Supreme Court ruling in District of Columbia vs. Heller allows local governments to restrict firearm use, according to a memo prepared for the County Council.

We've come a long way , I remember that the Old Blair High School had a Rifle team with a range in the basement , Nowadays the Liberal's would loose their minds at that .
