Agree, but it’s getting close. The gap is only 9 votes or so. Depends on how many switch sides.

    9?

I think it’s easily as few as 2.

Do not forget the seven (who voted to impeached President Trump):
    • Burr
    • Cassidy
    • Collins
    • Murkowski
    • Romney
    • Sasse
    • Toomey

Sadly none of this will be about facts (unless the sheeple wake up), it will all about who can tell the loudest lie, the most often.

    I seriously hope I’m wrong.

Sadly, hope is not a strategy

What is wrong with this woman? Hey Alaskans, you can put the pipe down and vote her out.

It’s also no surprise as soon as you pull up the bill our own two A$$hats Cardin and Van Hollen are both co sponsors. It’s almost laughable that they would support and cosponsor a bill that has basically already been law since 2013 (SB281) in MD. The firearms safety act of 2013 and hasn’t had any affect of violent crimes committed with firearms at all. You would think they would want to exemplify their own track record to campaign gun control in America. If there were truly a so called “gun violence epidemic” in this country, why double down and get on board with proven failed legislation. Why prove all the law abiding gun owners in your own state right? I despise the ground these senators walk on for the infringement to our rights that we constantly have to navigate in order to seek the true freedom we are endowed by our creator with. It’s despicable what they are trying to do to America.

This opinion piece states that they don't need to entirely scrap the filibuster, they should just reform it an exempt a bunch of types of legislation from being able to be filibustered.

Same problem (for the Dems). If that's the standard they want and set (totally capricious "it's only there when we say it is" BS, which effectively means it isn't part of the law making process as a process), then neither will the GOP feel any urge to be beholden to it ever again. This is how Harry Reid wound up getting the country nearly 300 new conservative federal judges and a much more conservative SCOTUS, with no ability to stop it.

They (the Dems) know that the "rules for thee but not for me" thing bit them in the ass badly last time around, and that was just on judges. If they lose the legislative majority, even by a hair, and have written off the filibuster by turning it into an on-a-whim thing for whoever has the senate, they will really hate what happens. They know this.

With the legislation they're trying to ram through, I don't think they care. Their goal is changing the game's rules so that they WILL have a permanent supermajority. Basically open the door to illegal immigrants and then give them voting rights, while also changing how voting happens to make elections easier for them to win(by lots of different means). Toss in the potential for 2a infringements and a possible court-stacking attempt.

I also don't think they have a problem strategically causing instability on purpose. Going back to the alinsky playbook, if you want to change the system, you've first got to trash it and convince people that your new system is better than the defective current one. Making the senate more polarized and subject to radical swings through simple-majority stuff fits right in with that long term strategy. A stable and deliberate senate that forces compromise and more moderate legislative action isn't ideal for lefties that want to bring things crashing down. I have zero doubts that if they can scrap the filibuster and stack the courts, they will.

Allen brings up a point that has been floating in my brain.

Lately, Feinstein's mental competency has been questioned even by her own staffers, apparently. She makes Biden look alert and competent. I seriously think that she is a mental potato occupying an office built on her years of brand-name marketing and that people are drafting legislation and having her sign it, just as a Nigerian scammer would convince and elderly person to sign away their retirement checks.

I actually don't believe that this legislation came from her. It may not have even been written by anyone in her office.
I picture most politicians do paper work like Henry Blake from MASH, just signing what ever papers are in front of him, even blanks to be filled out later.

    It comes down to this:
The "System" is going to crash, They created the social divide, the economical divide, The total lack of "rule of law".
The coming economical and/or pandemic crisis will be the trigger.

The only thing left to do before the collapse is to disarm the public.
They can not chance having an armed public as they "Install" their new "order"

They have sealed their "wins" in every future election. They will try to make the transition look as much like "democracy" as they can,, but just in case,, they need a helpless populace.

They are NOT going to let this chance to dis arm us slip them by,,

Moving to VA, WV, TN wherever won't do much good anymore.

The political environment and prevalence of modern sporting rifles is much different than when the Clinton ban went through. I wouldn’t be surprised, and I would be overjoyed to see, if this communist garbage becomes law a few red states becoming legitimate 2A sanctuaries. If reefer can be bought, sold, cultivated, smoked, in violation of federal law (even in the nation’s capital), why not “assault” rifles in TX, TN, or WV? Deploy their own intrastate background check for your LGS and declare all other federal gun laws null and void as superseded by the 2A.

The dems think they are slow boiling the frogs, me thinks this is a bridge too far.

I think the "Smokin Hot" governor from SD already stated that SD will not be following unconstitutional federal laws.

My screeching-liberal sister thinks that she would be immune to any such confiscation scheme because she's on Team (D)! She honestly believes that police would visit (dirty) Republican homes first.

Other states, hopefully a majority, will follow. State nullification and citizen nullification will be interesting to watch. Marbury v Madison says this is Constitutional.

    Does she look like this?
