Does anybody know who in the MSP to contact about status of a new handgun getting on the "approved" list. Talked to Hendershots in Hagerstown about transferring a Sig P227 SAS Gen 2. They stated that it was not on the approved handgun list so they cannot accept it for transfer. What the heck! It meets all the requirements, 10 round mag, etc. So now we have to wait for even handguns meeting all the restrictions to make it on the list before we can buy them?

P227 definitely not on the list yet - having been watching myself for quite a while - welcome to Marylandistan!

This info appears first on the MD Register website. The review board posts notice that they intend to approve new handguns and it is open to public review for a time and then approved. When a new gun is fully approved an updated version of the list is published on the MD Register even before MSP says anything ... publication in the MD Register is the official instruction to the MSP to put a new gun on their list.
