Oh I already want another companion. It’s just a question of when or if I have the safe space for it. A lot of other stuff I want and I won’t be allowed another safe anytime soon. Unless I go with rods or put some in upside down, the one side is full now and the other side has a couple of AR-15s, a 10/22 and an upper sitting there now. Not a whole lot of room. An AR-10 is going to get built sooner or later and I need at least a .223 bolt gun. That might leave space for 1-2 more long guns before I need to get creative. So I might be able to fit a field grade Garand in there two long guns from now.

I figure something like a Ruger PCC can be taken apart and live on the top shelf. Maybe.

But for now I’ll just be happy.

Wait till you get an M1 Carbine as a Garand companion. Then your addiction will be termed "clinical".

Their offspring would probably look like an M1A!

Hey, look at the picture. My wee little carbine is next to big brother Garand already!

I started off wanting a Garand more than a Carbine, largely because I didn’t want to pay Carbine prices for something I was medium warm about. I figure I never would and then I basically had the Carbine drop in my lap last summer and CMP announced they got a bunch of Turkish and Phillipine return Garands and I decided my 35th was coming up soon and I didn’t want to wait too long and find out that CMP was selling...nothing some day.

Here, better view. I do have a period correct (50s canvas web) sling for the Garand. I am just feeling lazy on putting it on. Once I tear it apart first.

Very good and you got your feet in the picture also as per MDS standards. Just remember when you shoot it it kicks a lot harder than it's little brother.

Nice rifle lazaras, I got my first one for X-mas last year. I starred at it, picked it up, looked it over, shouldered/held it and smiled at it for several days.
Went to an Estate sale 2 months ago and there was a Garrand and also a Springfield 1903 (which I don't have) for sale. I had told myself to get get the 1903, it was in good shape. I came home with the Garrand. I was hooked. I will now sell one of my AR-15's to fund a 1903. I will listen this time. I'll try to take pic's and post.

Yup, something about the wood and old school craftsmanship pulls at you. I like tacticool as well, but something about those pieces of history....

This is why I am probably not super likely to get another Garand soon. Too much else on my list I really want and a 1903 is pretty high. Especially an Ď03A3. I can appreciate an earlier one, but that rear peep sight...

Next year is another year of putting an addition on my house (last one, I swear! ) and this time around money is going to be legit tight. Other than some C&R awesome deal or a sweet heart Ď03 at a sweat heart price I might be able to budget $300-400 for a gun if I am lucky.

Or maybe Iíll get a promotion or some far flung long lost relative dies and leaves me everything.

Probably the rest of this year and next year is going to be snagging AR-10 parts as what I want goes on sale (I already have a matched upper and lower).
