    Where they send me.
I'm about through a 5 gallon bucket which I got recently. Sadly, I would say a 1/3 of it or at least 1/4 of it are iron, zinc, plastic, or some odd flexible plastic tape like stuff. Tons of small iron ones which are really annoying. Also, the large stick on ones were always great to get but now even some of those are iron. Much less lead ones than a year ago for sure (or maybe this was just an unlucky batch). I will still get a lot out of it but gone are the days where the non-lead ones were uncommon.

Any guess when lead wheel weights will be totally gone, or so uncommon that it stops to make it worth while?

I need to see about some other sources in any case.

If your game for an adventure I've had good luck at Modern Metals in Baltimore City. In the past they have let me pick and choose what lead I buy. Then a stop into North Western Pawn which is in the same area.

I work in a garage. We're still using lead weights, and honestly, it still seems that the majority of the ones I pull are lead. I'm in central PA though, so maybe it's different here....

Epa is trying to move the industry to more "green" weights, nothing in effect yet, at least in Maryland, but I hear it is coming soon. Steel weights are a good bit more expensive so I still install lead, unless the application/customer request otherwise.

I'm in Harford if anyone needs lead, I've got a couple 5 gallon buckets full.

There is a scrap metal yard in called Waldorf metals or something like that. It is off of route 5 and they allow you to pick what you want in lead. If you want sheets, they give you sheets (soft lead). The wheel weights are usually in 5 gallon buckets.

Finding lead ww's isn't really a prob for me. The prob is taking the time to melt it all down. I have like 6 5gal buckets of sorted weights but only have a dutch oven set-up to melt it in. If someone has a set-up that can melt a bucket at a time id def be interested in sharing some of my lead to use said set-up. Hell ill even bring my own propane lol.

They are also demanding that all underground water line fittings and saddles be lead free by 2020. Not an easy feat since most stuff is brass and there always has to be a certain amount of lead in brass. Maryland has already gone ahead and implemented this law into practice.
