    I'd rather spend that money on ammo or towards another firearm. I'm not one to spend money on a conversation piece. But that's just me. You do what makes you happy.

    Pretty much my thoughts, my budget wouldn't allow blow money on non functioning stuff unless it was perhaps civil war.... maybe. I'm phat on bullets, brass and primers BUT someday I know I'll need more.

    Welding it shouldn't be a problem. Finding a new firing pin would be the difficult part. Then the paperwork for a destructive device would have to be completed before you start this process.

    Turn it into a black powder muzzle loader. Maybe make it recoiless too by putting ballast behind the charge.
