“A Democratic state delegate has asked Attorney General Mark Herring (D) for a formal opinion on the Second Amendment sanctuary declarations being passed in a growing number of conservative counties across the state,” the Virginia Mercury reported Dec. 2. “Del. Jay Jones, D-Norfolk, said a legal opinion could help clear up confusion on an issue that has ‘become a flashpoint across our state.’”

“The bills passed by the General Assembly and signed into law by the governor are binding for our entire Commonwealth and its citizens,” Jones complained in his letter to Herring. “The legal precedent we would set by allowing communities to selectively ignore those laws at will is alarming and indicative of the same mindset that nearly one hundred and fifty years ago led this country to dissolve into a civil war.”

Now if only the Republican elected representatives had a pair and stated the same about sanctuary cities and counties for illegal immigrants! So called sanctuary locations for illegals go against federal laws where sanctuary 2A counties embrace the constitutional rights of the people and not some elected snowflakes.

Well duh...so it can finally be said, that some Socialist have some sense. Will that sense dissuade them? Well they don't have that much sense.

The Media and the VA Socialists will soon begin their arguement that all 2A supporters are domestic terrorists, just like San Francisco. It's so sad to witness what is quickly becoming the inevitable, that we are just too far apart, and all it will take is a Trump Impeachment and the passage of some of these "good ideas" from the good-idea-faries to launch the great Nation into turmoil.

It's all well and good when the sanctuaries apply to immigration, I guess.

They very well may be flash-points for the next civil war... I'd say, ball is in their court.

There's a huge leftist talking point right now that "immigration cities don't exist in Virginia".

The disingenuous part of that is that they were pushing heavily for exactly that with legislation last year and Governor Blackface knocked it down.

As usual, they've got it 100%, precisely, exquisitely backwards. These clowns would say that Fort Sumter and the US soldiers in it were a "flashpoint for civil war" because the people who WANTED a civil war decided to shoot artillery at them. The only people creating an atmosphere of toxically divisive counter-constitutional strife are those deliberately pursuing state laws designed to thwart (in this case) the 2A's protections. Those rural counties that won't go along aren't the flashpoints, the Bloombots are deliberately making the entire state into one. It's on them.

It will be interesting to see if the VA AG takes this up and what his opinion is and what it is based upon.

yep, this! not only is 'shall not be infringed' in our federal constitution, it's in our state constitution as well. just leave honest and law-abiding citizens alone and get and keep the criminals off our street.

Hell's bells, they've turned the entire stat - with the exception of the close-into-DC counties - into a Civil War flash point.

What did they think was going to happen?

Apparently the party failed to notice the resistance in upstate NY and in Connecticut, where all the horrible banned objects somehow failed to turn themselves in. All the states that now have Constitutional Carry might have been a clue, but apparently they missed that as well.

Now that We the People have seen clearly what they intend, we are treating blatantly unconstitutional laws with the scorn that they deserve. Along with that, respect for laws in general is being weakened, which is not a bad thing when you consider that most of the new laws we have are mere window-dressing.

The real problem lies with people who never respected the laws. Phony legislation merely increases their number, now counting many of those who would have been considered "law-abiding." Soon there will be as many criminal citizens as there are criminal legislators, judges, and prosecutors.

And no, I don't consider those who pass and support and prosecute unconstitutional laws as "citizens." More like tyrants, or domestic enemies (with thanks to Mr Bracken).

Gov. Ralph Northam basically says "RESPECT MHA ATHOURITA"

When asked if localities could face consequences if law enforcement officers don't enforce gun laws, the Gov. said "If we have constitutional laws on the books and law enforcement officers are not enforcing those laws on the books, then there are going to be consequences, but I'll cross that bridge if and when we get to it."

Northam pushed back on all of the second amendment sanctuary resolutions being passed, saying all laws that he personally has proposed are Constitutional. "We're not going to take people's guns away," he said.

BULLDUKEY. That is exactly what he is proposing. :mad54: :mad54: :mad54:

he says "if we have constitutional laws." well guess what, removing the most popular and prolific firearm from the population is the opposite of 'shall not be infringed.' so the dem proposals are absolutely not constitutional. so i agree, let's follow the laws that are actually constitutional.

I hope 2020 is a political bloodbath for VA demonicrats!
