Ah, yeah it’s hard to tell from the pics
you know i only overheard that it was matching..from my knowledge if it has an H band the stock should have a flat milled butt plate not stamped (cupped).

I’m not an expert on the matter by any means, but from my knowledge, i don’t think you’re far off. The H bands are one of the most commonly replaced parts, if it is matching, depending on manufacturer, they switched from flat buttplates to cupped in 1940, and switched to full solid barrel bands in 1941-1942 from what i remember. There are of course exceptions but i bet that rifle’s from around those 2 years or so if i had to guess.
