I just bought a Model 418 off GB this morning, so I don't have posession yet, but I'm super excited for it. I'll post pics when it comes in.

I'll need a tang sight and will possibly swap the stock front bead for a globe. My goal is for it to be a nice off-hand rifle for casual target shooting, plinking, and some squirrel hunting. Can anyone recommend some particulars for sights, as well as what screw size the tang needs (and a source)?

    Thanks!

I ended up finding a vintage Lyman 1a to fit the rifle. Looks great! For an 80-ish-year-old rifle, this thing is in amazing cosmetic shape.

The front sight is the original Partridge style post, but it had to have been modified sometime in the past, because I was shooting 12" high at 50 yards! No worries, however. I've got a Lyman globe sight that will be going on anyway.
