One of my friends showed me the mosin his father brought back from Vietnam. It's a factory 26 from china, and it is in really good shape.

Everything matches on this rifle. The owners father was a pilot, and was supporting the ground troops. The rifle was captured by the guys on the ground after threats in a hole or cave were neutralized with white phosphorus (?)from the pilots airplane.

Very cool Type 53. Hopefully the owner has paperwork for the story.

Cool, if they have capture papers that will be worth a pretty penny in a decade or two.

Awesome bringback! Very envious as I don't have a bringback from that war (conflict) in my collection as of yet.

LOL! Sorry. That was an inside joke for my dad (he lurks here as a guest).
He and two uncles all fought through Korea and then Vietnam. After Vietnam, they questioned the use of the term, "conflict". My dad said it must have been coined by a non-combatant. His reasoning was that he'd been through the Korean WAR and Vietnam was no different. People were still shooting at and trying to kill him...;)
