Good afternoon sir,
ATF's position regarding Maryland’s new law is posted on our public website in a Special Advisory issued by our Office of Public Affairs. I have included a hyperlink to the advisory for your convenience below.
https://www.atf.gov/news/pr/maryland-law-restricting-rapid-fire-trigger-activators
I trust this advisory clarifies ATF’s authority, however please let us know if we can be of further assistance by contacting us at (202)648-7120 or FIPB@atf.gov.

To whom it may concern,
I would like to apply with the BATFE for authorization to posses a rapid fire trigger activator as mandated by the state of Maryland before the October 1st 2018 deadline as to be in compliance with the new senate bill 707 written into law earlier this year.
Thank you,
Just reading from the ATF link it basically states they won’t give permission, so why are we sending letters to them again?? Little confused as to what this letter will do for us.
This forum is seen by an incredibly small number of MD gun owners. I'd be surprised if ATF receives 50 letters, of which they will send back 0 approved letters. Then what.....
This is a tiny echo chamber. Most MD gun owners have no idea that a bump stock bill passed, hell probably didn't know one was introduced.
As stated no approval required. Only proof that you applied per the Federal Judge.
Bet that frosted Frosh too!
You are correct, I’ve talked to many gun owners that don’t have a clue about half the laws passed in this state and aren’t on any gun forum.

And that is where the reach of social media comes into play. This has already been posted up on several prominent MD 2A related sites and folks are sharing it with their friends and family. And I'm sure that MSI will be forthcoming with an email blast and will have this info and the form available on their website.
We can all do our part by sharing this in whatever manner we can with those firearms owners we know that aren't on or don't know about MDS.

Esp transport laws. A LOT of people ive bumped into recently seem to be under the impression HQL provides some sort of "transport" errr, benefits. Mine says "this is not a carry permit" right on there. And yet...
Anyway - So I would need to submit this document in the mail to "protect myself" ?
Yes, before October 1st
