Just for the sake of debate, if MD decided to move towards "shall issue" permits but decided to make it a revenue producer (as they do with just about everything) what price would you willingly pony up per year to be able to exercise your right and carry without restriction?

Maybe they should charge us for each of the 10 amendments in the Bill of So-called Rights.

The question is what value to you put on defending you and your family's life if needed right (if legally carrying)? Can you put a number on that?

In theory I would pay for my right to keep and bear arms not one penney more than I am required to pay for my right to vote.

100 bucks every 5yrs like other states would be fair but we all know the people’s republic of Maryland isn’t going to make any change for the good

Considering that the training, finger printing, and other BS just to apply for the permit runs $300 the damn thing should be free!

People with enough money can already get a permit.

    Next.

Not necessarily. If it where as simple as writing a check, I'd already have a permit. But being retired and not under mortal threat, I just don't qualify. Please prove me wrong. Please.

I hate to seem as if supporting corruption, but ....

Supposedly in the bad old days in NYC , there was a certain going rate of cash to slip to local Precinct Lt , to recieve unrestricted Permit .

As long as a system is totally and inherently corrupt , might as well have consistency , transparency, and effecent results.
