Training experience

I just received my NRA Basic Pistol Instructor certification. I also have my NRA Range Safety Officer. Any idea where I can find someone having a match or shooting event that would let me volunteer to get some extra experience? I'm not a newbie. 4 years USMC 2+ in Vietnam 0331. Have been shooting ever since. I shoot regularly, NRA range, Maryland Small Arms, Myrtle Grove. I'd like to get into competitive shooting and/or volunteering at these events as an RSO. By trade I am a construction safety officer with 15+ years experience,OSHA 500 Train the trainer, and Hazmat Level III. Ready for retirement, giving of some of my time and helping others learn the great sport of shooting. I'm also not a newbie to volunteering. I've been a volunteer firefighter for 40+ years, last 14 as a a Deputy Chief. Any ideas? Contacts?

I am always willing to let a new instructor observe my classes andeven teach a section if they want.

I know it is a far drive, but you would be welcome as a volunteer RSO at Elk Neck (i would check to see if Myrtle Grove has a similar set up).

I will be offering a shotgun instructor class in July (assuming all things go as planned) if you are interested.

Take Boundlessdyad or ProShooter up on their offers. I have found you learn a lot from being around other instructors.
