    That is not careless.

    Careless is leaving a stuck round in the chamber because you didnt clear it, as you drive home.

    I wasn't talking about the gun he cleared.
    There are other people on the range.
    And, he points a gun within inches of himself, if not closer.

    I saw no muzzle violation on the AK.

    I agree, technically there was no violation. But, still careless. Others were down range behind his back. He never checked. He lazily drops his rifle off his shoulder using only the strap, and the rifle is certainly pointed in the general direction of where those other folks were, and not under his control while being handled by only the strap. That crap makes me nervous. It might not bother others.

    I rest my case. If I were on range with him, I doubt I'd say anything, but I'd certainly keep a watchful eye.

    FWF, ARs can be "mortared" horizontally as well. Think vertical post with muzzle pointing down range.
