You just don't want to get jammed up in a situation where a student shoots, and hits grandma waiting for a bus down the street, and then their live fire qual comes into question.

We do a 50 round course with the student. Not sure what other instructors here are doing. I feel confident in signing off on a cert after watching them do certain tasks within that 50 rounds.
