"Under a recent agreement between the counties, prosecutors in one county review police-involved shootings in the other county. The agreement is meant to guard against perceived conflicts of interests because police and prosecutors work so closely within their own jurisdictions."
Is this a common practice nationwide?
You have to ask yourself, all kidding aside, why was be trying to 'break' the window with the crown of his barrel. Easy answer: He wasn't.
He F'd up.
It's been done 1000 times and despite all these stupid opinions in this thread.......it works.
Are there better/ more responsible tools......of course
But glocks can and do break windows
Stupid opinions? No such thing. Stating facts that aren't facts, now that's stupid.
Glocks can break windows, rocks can break windows, tire irons can also break windows.
Whether it is responsible, appropriate, negligent, or even criminal to do so is another question.

Again, way better tools, I'll agree, but sometimes you just gotta go with what ya got.
An independent SA declined charges so there are probably some mitigating factors that aren't being dropped in detail.
A driver that rams into a car because they think that driver is blocking their path is probably dumb enough to keep their foot on the gas when an officer shows up. It's easy to imagine a situation in which the car was continuing to present a threat, so the officer quickly smacks the window out with the gun(because they may not have had the luxury of time to reach for another object but the gun was already in his hands), to pop the door from the inside, and drag the driver out/whatever the situation required.
The discharge may have been an oopsie, but it doesn't mean the officer's action are criminal. Given the situation, the officer's actions could be EASY to justify.
