Do-It-Yourself 'Ghost Guns' Bypass Background Checks And Firearm Registration
    https://www.npr.org/2017/11/21/5656...bypass-background-checks-firearm-registration

Arrgh. Compliance with the law is not a "bypass" or a "workaround."

"The trick is regulating this ghost gun workaround, just like we do fully functioning firearms," Skaggs says. "Make sure that [gun components sold in kits] are serialized, that those manufacturing them have appropriate licensing, and make sure that for people to buy them they have to pass a background check."

The bolded text is NPR's edit. I wonder what the original statement was ... probably "Make sure that gun parts are serialized ..." I can understand NRP wanting to edit that, because gun stocks can be made of wood, so "trees" would be "gun parts."

I've been buying 80% lowers whenever I see them on sale for the last 3-4 years. I'd just put the box on the shelf. I have 23. I'm good. :D

You'd better stock up on parts to finish them out, too.

Looks like they're going to ban all tools. Wrap your head around that concept.

I'm stocking up on flint and antlers so I can make my own tools.

Sadly, working on it. I only have 5 more lowers to do. Did 8 last weekend. Banning the tools is just nuts.

Heh, good luck with that. That genie's out of the bottle, and it ain't going back in.

Take down the videos, plenty of folks already possess the knowledge to build firearms - be it from an 80%, or from scratch. Example, Khyber Pass and the Phillipines.

Be prepared for your firing pins, springs, etc to be serialized.

Maybe in a liberal distopia all they are talking about will come to pass. I doubt it.

    I don’t see how they ban 80%s

I am sure liberals will try something. Maybe mandatory registration and serialization when complete or something (best bet on what they will try). How do you regulate a block of plastic or metal?
