I honestly can't figure out why people want a medical marijuana card in the first place. Pot is at every bar in the whole state and it is cheap. There is no benefit to having the card. It grants you access to nothing you can't already get any day of the week in any town in the whole state. Bunch of dumbasses if you ask me. Much more important to have a MD HQL.

I have a feeling that getting a medical card will soon be like getting Viagra over the internet. Just answer a few questions during your online "Dr. appointment" and your card or Viagra or whatever the item du jour is will be on its way.

It already is. The docs will coach the patients on what to say if they are too dumb to figure it out for themselves.

Strange that we can have a script for any other drug, including puppies and still have firearms. But not mj? Great thinking!

Medical Marijuana Does NOT make you high!!

The truth of the matter has not even been brought up here. Medical Marijuana does NOT generally make the user stoned. That part is removed. See the article below:

    What is medical marijuana?
To understand whether medical marijuana can get you high, you need to understand what’s in marijuana.

Both recreational and medical strains of marijuana (also known as cannabis or marijuana) come from the cannabis plant. After they’re dried, the leaves can be smoked or ingested. Marijuana contains over 70 cannabinoids, or chemical compounds,1 each of which has different effects on the body.

The two main cannabinoids are tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). Marijuana growers typically grow plants that have a concentration of one or the other cannabinoid.

THC causes the mind-altering or psychoactive effects that recreational users seek. It creates a feeling of euphoria, stimulates the appetite, and enhances the senses. It can also impair driving2 and cognition, distort one’s sense of time, and have other negative effects.

In contrast, you cannot get high from CBD, which is the main cannabinoid in medical marijuana. CBD is used to treat numerous conditions and diseases. Evidence suggests that it’s effective in the treatment of pain, epilepsy, schizophrenia, and many more conditions. As medical marijuana, it’s used in oils, skin patches, and gels in addition to being smoked. CBD is considered safer than THC.

However as usual the Feds are the last group on earth to understand something this simple so we continue to promulgate the opioid crisis needlessly and take our Second Amendment rights away. It is time we made the Feds help citizens in pain instead of enforcing antiquated laws based on groundless studies.

The application is anti- repeat offender (alcohol related) and repeat offender drug related. There is no distinction of recreational alcohol or Marijuana user. If I am not mistaken the questions used to be "Arrested/charged with drug offenses/paraphanalia.." or words to that effect and for alcohol 3 or more DUI/DWI offenses... Pretty liberal in my view.

Personally- no firearms when consuming or under the influence of alcohol. I can't speak for marijuana as I have no interest, but I think a similar standard should be followed by said users (recreational).

If you admit to repeated use (medicinal) you pay the consequences for federal restrictions. Marijuana today - Allergy medicines tomorrow

Noooooo. There are many strains available that are very high in THC. If these folks are not interested in THC, they can just buy CBD oil on Amazon. It is widely available and perfectly legal.

Not even remotely close to true CBD oil products that medical marijuana users obtain from their cannibas vendors.

Cgwood, I don't know what you are smoking, but you are way out there. Finding "medical marijuana" for sale devoid of THC is the exception to the rule, not the rule itself. Nobody wants that, unless they are feeding it to their kids with cancer. So.. yes. There is a need. One in a million though.

The DEA will argue with you on that last point.

A quick google search on your part should clear that up for you. Hemp derived CBD oil is perfectly legal. Marijuana derived CBD oil is not.....why is that? Hemp derived CBD oil has no THC in it, while the latter does. The FDA has said it is not federally illegal. https://www.federalregister.gov/doc...le-v-of-certain-fda-approved-drugs-containing

Not even remotely close to true CBD oil products that medical marijuana users obtain from their cannibas vendors.

See above. The Cannabis oil from cannabis vendors has THC in it. Often 50% or more. So much for “nobody is getting high”.

Bread and Circuses has become Weed and Reality TV.

People get amazingly upset when you try to get in the way of their weed. For the record, I think it should be legal. I don't think doctors need to get involved at all.

You are misinformed. Try reading some more. The CBD products my wife uses do not contain any THC. Yes, you can get CBD products with no THC, with small amounts or with larger amounts. Most people who use CBD products for medicinal purposes are not interested in "getting high" :innocent0

Most people with marijuana cards are not interested in treating medical conditions. I am aware that there are CBD oil products with no THC. They are perfectly legal.

I personally know at least 3 people with medical marijuana cards. None of them use it to treat a condition that couldn’t otherwise be treated and all use it for the “side-effects”. Needless to say, none of them are ever allowed in my car (card or not, I don’t care).

For the record, I believe it should be treated like alcohol, but the laws we have are the laws we have

Also, my employer will not hire anyone with a medical marijuana card. That’s an automatic disqualification. Private company and their rules that I completely agree with.
