That kind of work takes a lifetime to learn, and I bet you could have bought several new guns for what it cost you for that restoration. I wonder how many hours he put into doing it. It was worth it though - that shotgun came back as a thing of beauty.
I may be wrong but I think the Winchester model 12 is about a $600 gun in reasonable condition. The condition this gun was in made it about a $250 gun. I think now it's back close to a $600 gun. At least it's not deteriorating futher.
