Was talking to a friend who owns and operates an auto repair shop in Columbia MD and he is looking for a reliable B Tech or better. This shop is well equipped and the owner is a great guy to work with. PM me with a resume and I'll get it to him.

C tech is generally considered an apprentice or beginning tech. Oil changes, parts changer. Not much diagnostic skill.
B tech has a few years under his belt, has started getting ASE certs, can do basic diagnostic of problems-electrical, why brakes pull, suspension noises.
A tech should be an ASE master, good with scanners, drivability problems, figuring out random noises, hunting down electrical draws and shorts.

"A" is the toolman saying "Ahhhh...he's not buying crap these days" and
"C" is for "C-mon out to the truck! I got a smoking deal on a 3-bay box you can put your oil filter wrenches, 3 screwdrivers, and a pair of vice grips in!"

I couldn't imagine starting these days, when I first got out you could write off all your tool expenses, these days not so much. Not that I have stopped buying tools, I just wouldn't want to spend 10-20k a year like I did some years.
