Sure, it's not as exciting as a new old gun, but I picked up a Marbles R6 for the Rem Mod. 8 I grabbed a few months back as a "hooray for me!" gift to myself for the promotion I received at work.

After being bid up way beyond reasonable pricing for an example in much worse shape, I managed to nab this one with only one competitor bidding against me on GB a few weeks ago. The competitor was a dealer, so I'm glad I was able to grab this and get it into good hands instead of it going to someone that would market it up and just turn it for a profit.

I have a repro mounting screw on order, and I'll probably look for another aperture insert (these eyes aren't getting any younger) but all in all she's a beauty for her age. No real wear marks, everything moves smoothly in terms of adjustment, and the spring is in great shape.

Once my new furniture comes in for my Model 8, I'll snap some photos of everything together.

That's how you do it! You have to know when to walk away and be patient, the right deal will eventually come along. This one is in fantastic condition. It's nice that mounting screws are still being made for the 8/81 tang sights.
Me, I grabbed a nice tang sight for a Remington 12 not long ago, even though I haven't found just the right rifle as of yet. A deal too good to pass up came along. Sometimes you have to be prepared to act when opportunity knocks.
