Can someone explain the new Handgun Roster that appears to be doing away with model numbers, or am I reading it wrong?
I am looking at a Pietta 1873 Single Action revolver but it is not listed on the allowed list (search) although other 1873 variants are.

It wasn’t consistent before because you didn’t use a model/sku number on some manufacturers but did on others. So now just a model is required and then in model number area they still have a selection of numbers but they also added NA. Long overdue!

Ultimately it’s up to your ffl if they think it fits under a listing. The model number
#51991 does not seem to be on the roster but it doesn’t need to be.
Armscor Philippines - Rock Island ....
List a 1911 tac ultra fs with model numbers in that area in 10mm

I’ll call my ffl in the morning. My other firearm purchases were all md approved. Hopefully this one will be too. Thanks

Extremely smart of them. I wanted to buy the Pakistan made MP5 but each year they changed the model number to reflect the batch. The model on MD roster was from 2016. With this removal, one could buy any year’s batch. Just one example but a good change
