Mine is getting worse plus I started cataracts a couple of years ago. Today I have conditioned myself that 2 inch groups at 50 and 4-5 inch groups at 100 yards are acceptable. Such is life. :sad20:

I still do OK using a regular old scope with crosshairs but, getting old sucks and that's probably why I shoot handguns more than any other type of firearm these days.

I'll cast my vote with DP to get the cataract surgery done. My mom got it in her late 50's and the difference was literally like night and day for her.

The doctor's tell me that I'm not ready for the cataract surgery yet. I go to Chesapeake Eye Center every year and have a great Ophthalmologist but she says I have to be patient while they "grow".

The first Red Dot I ever bought outside of Aimpoint and Eotech while I was in the military was an original Spitfire from Vortex when they first started. I was absolutely amazed at the workmanship and reliability. That’s what started my journey with Vortex which I still own many of them today. One of the many things I have enjoyed with Vortex optics is their no BS warranty which I have used a time or too due to usually my fault. They have always either fixed the issue or replaced the optic to include upgrading it if the optic is no longer sold. They also have a steep discount off their MSRP for LEO and military. They are a great company and I will continue to use them.

The more important question: What's good enough for a person's particular application when budget is a major factor. Leupold and Vortex make very nice products at much lower price points than the high-end manufacturers..

Budget is a factor for me which is why my more expensive scopes are made by Leupold and Vortex. I never shoot over a hundred yards anymore anyway.

Vortex products are great especially with there warranty. The spitfire is good as stated for astigmatism problems. One to thing to consider is you won't be able to cowitness with iron sights. I have astigmatism and somewhat correct it with glasses. Found this out after purchasing and using one. I hope someone/company can eventually develop something to overcome the astigmatism problems.
