Learned something interesting today speaking with sheriff at circuit court. Told me bringing a handgun in is no problem and they have lockers to put in while inside just declare before going through detector. Said its better than leaving in car (obviously). District court does not seem as friendly.

It really does depend on the courthouse. I remember in Philadelphia we used to lock our guns in lockers when going to testify but now I asked about it and people looked at me like I was nuts.

It is my understanding that there is a law on the books in PA that manages lockers at gov buildings for people to lock up thier weapons.
When I went to get my PA LTCF the deputylooked at me funny when i told him I had an empty holster. He stated that they had lockers for me to secure it.

Maybe it is Philadelphia that has done away with them as they are now "awoke."

I think you mean "woke". Not the same as awoke.

Awoke refers to a state of consciousness.

Woke refers to a state of arrogant, narcissistic self righteousness coupled with demagoguery against those that don't share their sense of self-importance.

For those of you not aware, Maryland's District Court system is unified and theoretically (emphasis on theoretically) will have uniform practices and procedures for security statewide. It doesn't exactly work that way due to physical differences in locations and other factors. Circuit Courts, on the other hand, are managed at the County level by the Chief Administrative Judge of that particular court, so security practices will vary widely.

Annapolis is now one of the most secure county courthouses, FWIW. They don't recognize any attorney badges to bypass security, but at least they gave us an "express line", so it's kind of like having pre-check at the airport. I never would have thought they had weapons lockers for use by the unwashed masses, though. Wonder if Jim Fredericks has anything to do with that?
