Good deal for <$20. Kershaw CQC-3K Folding Knife w/Emerson Wave Opener

This is another MassDrop knife, but this one is an Emerson/Kershaw collaboration (made in china). Has the wave feature and thumb paddle, spear point, easy to sharpen (helps keep the cost down), simple screws (flathead&phillips, easy to take apart) and it's on the smaller size, 2.75".

http://dro.ps/b/IiQfx79/l

Deal looks good for only a few more days.

Specs

Kershaw
Emerson design
Manual opening w/'wave' design
Frame lock
Reversible pocketclip (left/right)
Steel: 8Cr14MoV, black-oxide coating
Handle: Textured G-10 front, 410 black-oxide coated back
Blade length: 2.75 in (70 mm)
Closed length: 3.75 in (95 mm)
Open length: 6.5 in (165 mm)
Weight: 3.8 oz (107.7 g)

I carried an Emerson CQC mini with the wave feature and tanto blade everyday for 5+ years. I loved the convenience, size and ease of opening......never liked the tanto blade.

As soon as i saw the Kershaw CQC-5K 60740blk, I had to have one! I bought 2 when they were $29 each. Its not an Emerson but its a great value......my emerson has been in the drawer for the last year. Great edc knife.

I recently lost my EDC assisted opening folder. The timing of this couldn't be better. I may pick up two at this price. I like the concept of the Emerson wave.

I might pick up a couple as "non-permissive environment" knives. Basically a high quality design, that's cheap enough for me not to care if I lose it to security.

Hook looking doodad on the spine of the knife. You catch it on your pants when drawing the knife to deploy the blade.

I own this and may pick up a couple more. Nice small size, doesn't take up a lot of room in the pocket. Opens right out of the pocket. The grip feels really good in the ice pick edge out grip if you are so inclined.

It appears I need to give out a lot of personal info just to view this. Am I missing something?

Its a hook on the backside of the blade that engages the back corner of the pocket and causes the blade to open.

Faster to open than any switchblade or spring assist that I've ever seen. Pure genius.

Can one handed deployment only be accomplished using the hook thingie? I like the speed safe feature on my Kershaws.
