Been bitten by the subsonic bug recently and have been on the search for any resources that might help. Any info/articles on safely developing a sub load that does not have published data would be great too. Looking for 308, 6.5 creedmoor, 223, 300 blk. I know some of these aren’t practical in sub loads but I just thought it would be cool to try. Any help is appreciated.

This is just a link to a general sub forum at the hide. I'm pretty sure I remember seeing info on sub .308 in there (and probably 6.5 and .223) You might have to dig a bit, but my experience is that the folks over at the hide that post are general professionals or at least are amateurs with a HELL of a lot of experience.

All things 300 BLK. Wealth of knowledge here if you're new to the cartridge.

For subsonic .223’s I just get a 22 LR and call it done.

In 308 trailboss is the powder and 11 grains with my cast and coated 150 grain bullets make for good backyard plinkers.

Lots of different loads for the 300 blk, just look for heavy bullet load data.

Never tried a subsonic 6.5 Creedmoor, sounds like trying to make a laserbeam not put out any light.

One thing to note when going slow is instead of working up your load, you work down the load. Better to start high than stick a bullet in the bore.

I had been told that but I thought it would be interesting to have more versatility within a single platform/caliber by going subsonic.
I actually took the creedmoor out the other day and tested supersonics through the can. It was impressively quiet. It did only take about 4 rds to get the can too hot to touch.

The First String was only 5rnds I was unable to get setup in time. I also was unable to reset between strings to the get the SD and ES numbers as well. This is without the suppressor, no keyholing at 100yards the 10.6 and 10.3 grouped the best all within 1.5 inches for me.

I don’t know if you found a sub load for your blackout, but the CFE black powder ended up being phenomenal for me. I tried a bunch of different powders and this one was the most consistent. My load was 11.5 grains with a 190 SMK. 2.250”. Sub moa out of a bolt gun.
