Didn't know that. Just throwing out what I heard. Must be coincidental that the rifle
That was found there was a Bushmaster, and directly afterwords the State banned them by name in the laws they passed because of the shooting.

The Legislature did no such thing. The Bushmaster carbine referred to as a regulated firearm was the Gwynn Bushmaster carbine, that then became a banned firearm. After FSA2013 passed, AG Ganglier pushed to ban the entire line by name.

But it wasn't the bushmaster AR it was the m17. Didn't even look like a AR. The 2013 didn't add the bushmaster, msp just changed their interpretation of the previous list.

It was the Gwynn Bushmaster carbine, NOT the M17.

This is also banned by name. What they probably produced maybe a thousand of them.

My re-collection is that the Beltway Sniper used a BUSHMASTER & that name was in the News EVERY DAY while his shootings were going on & ubtil they got caught...

That was the first time that I ever heard of a BUSHMASTER...

CMMG AR-15 must be the best. My friend puts groups through quarters at 100 yards..

All this is as confusing as hell. Let me ask a simple "yes" or "no" question.

Is the Bushmaster M17s banned in this state?

The first time I ever heard the name BushMaster was during the Beltway Sniper shootings...

A lot of those shots were very accurate considering they were fired out of a hole in the trunk of a car & a lot of the victims were shot at night...

I always though it was because of the DC Sniper.

You know, the white man in the white van Chief Moose is still pursuing like OJ and the real killers.

I'm not trying to be a thrill killer here and maybe I have too high an expectation from a rifle, but.....Shooting from a bench with a scope and a forward rest, wouldn't anyone expect that kind of accuracy at 100 yards from any rifle of reasonable quality?
Exactly what I was thinking. I can hit an 8" plate at 100yds. from a bench rest with my Ruger AR with a red dot sight.
